Winter at the Inn offers the cold weather enthusiast a host of activities. Snow begins to fall typically in mid-November through mid-March in the Poconos. The Inn itself is located at a 1200 ft. elevation making for spectacular winter views outside each guest room window while you can remain warm and cozy inside your individually thermostatic controlled room with fireplace. The Pocono region features three down-hill ski resorts; Jack Frost, Big Boulder and Camelback. Both Hickory Run State Park and Lehigh Valley Gorge State Park offer endless miles of trails for cross-country skiing and snow-shoe hiking.
Winter is also a time to enjoy the state parks. Most trails are open for hiking, snowshoeing and cross country skiing. Some trails in the State game-lands and State Parks that surround the Inn at Hickory Run allow snowmobiling. Please feel free to ask us about location of trails and appropriate requirements for use. There are a host of winter activities not far from the Inn that make for a fun stay.
Of course we invite you to select a book from our library, or watch a DVD either on our big screen TV in the family room or in your bedroom, or curl up in front of one of our many fireplaces and enjoy a nice relaxing winter day. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate are available throughout the day during the winter months.
