The Inn at Hickory Run was designed and built by the owners, David and Nancy Pfeil, both engineering graduates of Lehigh University. After developing three successful software companies, the Pfeils' goal was to build and operate a facility which provides a retreat for busy executives and their spouses to relax and enjoy the many outdoor activities in the Poconos and surrounding state parks.
The project, started in 2002, was completed in August, 2005. The 9600 square foot facility is designed to be the state-of-the-art in environmentally friendly systems and home automation capabilities, while providing comfortable country accommodations.
Heating and air conditioning are provided by geothermal furnaces. All lighting and electrical appliances are controlled via computer automated systems. The entire facility supports wired and wireless internet access, and all activities available in the region have been computerized for quick and easy access.
The highlight of our environmental efforts is a 6.6 WK wind turbine. In cooperation with Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Agency and the Energy Harvest Program, the Inn deployed a residential wind turbine system. Click here to learn more about our green initiatives.
Even though the underlying construction and systems are state-of-the-art, the Inn' interior has been designed with a rustic, relaxed country atmosphere. Your stay is designed to let you do as much or as little as you desire. Activity-filled days complemented by quiet star-filled nights are best enjoyed by our waterfall in summer or a cozy fireplace in winter.
If you have any questions about staying with us or would like to tailor your stay, please feel free to ask for David or Nancy when you call or email us email@example.com.
"We have relatives that live near The Inn. For years we went to a hotel at a near by exit off 80. Last year we found Dave and the Inn. What a gem. When I say you can eat of the floor, I mean it. The Inn is very clean yet very cozy. And breakfast is wonderful. This year there was a special treat of an apple pie for the evening sweet! Yummm. Staying at the Inn has made us want to explore the area and Dave shares all the special sites to see. If you have any doubts, don't hesitate. Stay here."
